South West Water invest in CCTV training

01/04/2017NewsBy Ian Cameron

CCTV Survey TrainingWe are pleased to announce the successful training of forty-four South West Water operatives in CCTV investigation techniques. The Water Company are investing in their staff with a view to providing future efficiencies throughout their sewerage asset management system.

The use of trained personnel using modern surveying techniques will lead to a better quality of service for customers, as well as providing cost saving benefits for the water and sewerage company. Defective sewers can be identified quickly and correctly and efficient remedial recommendations can be put in place before problems get worse.

The successful candidates have now gained a qualification that was produced by the Water Research Centre in association with Environment Agency and the National Association of Drainage Contractors. Training is delivered by experienced and qualified personnel, it also complies with MSCC5 (BS EN 13508-2:2003+A1:2011) and the qualification is an EU Skill.

The training course covers drainage law, misconnections, CCTV coding, serviceability issues and remedial recommendations.
