Peter Henley of WRC and Ian Cameron from Viewline.
Our visit to the No-Dig 2018 exhibition at Peterborough found a very well attended event with lots of interesting new developments in the world of drain and sewer rehabilitation. We were primarily there to receive our WRc Approved certification from Peter Henley. WRc were sharing a stand with Electro Scan, who have appointed WRc as their representatives for the UK. The Electro Scan system tests pipes for infiltration and lack of water tightness, a very important issue when considering the condition of a drainage system.
WRc Approval provides a means of identifying materials and designs of systems, (reporting software in our case), which have demonstrated that they have the requisite performance but also additionally provide confidence that the system actually supplied is to the national standard for drain condition reporting (MSCC5). This provides our clients and the end user with confidence in the quality of the report they are receiving.
We also have approval from the NADC, who recommend our report output as the benchmark for CCTV survey reports. They recognise that the combination of a trained surveyor and an approved report output will provide standard compliant confidence.
Quality is an important factor in most businesses and is essential in the water industry. Civilization is dependent on well-maintained sewage systems. We would recommend that buyers consider this when considering drainage systems, materials and products. WRc Approved is a very good way of doing this.
