Collecting Videos and Office Reporting

As discussed, Viewline will play most video files from just about all the camera system manufacturers. We utilise Lav filters to enable playback of these videos. Other video filters are available including ffmpeg and ffdshow and if you are having problems with video playback you can use these to see if they help. To clarify, we don’t supply Lav filters with Viewline. If you are having video playback problems, difficulties or issues then please download Lav Filters and install them. Then right click on the video screen (with a video loaded) and make sure Lav Filters are selected as preferred.

Also, if you are having problems playing videos a useful way of checking that the file is actually playable is by downloading and installing VLC. This is a free application that can be downloaded from the internet and is very versatile. To check your video file, either right click it and Open With VLC or open VLC, go to Media, Open File and select the video file in question. If it does not open and play in VLC it won’t play in Viewline.

Each video file that is attached to a section header is saved within the project folder.
